Want to read some of my work? This feature is a good place to start. "The Lightning Rod," my in-depth profile of stem cell scientist Robert Lanza, won first place feature-writing awards from the New Jersey and Pennsylvania chapters of the Society of Professional Journalists. It was also named a staff pick by Longreads and featured on their website, blog, Twitter and this "Best of" compilation.

I often focus on higher education, business and the arts in my writing, though my stories have spanned many other areas, too. As for form, I'm as comfortable writing short web pieces as I am crafting 5,000-word magazine stories.
